YOUTH
Being a teen in today’s society can be challenging for even the most well-adjusted children. During adolescence, the body and mind goes through a great deal of growth and development. In addition to these internal changes, there are social pressures, cultural forces, and academic demands that must be navigated.
A major aspect of each teen's experience is forming an identity outside of the family. Interactions inside the family are often affected when peer relationships gain importance. Therapy can be a safe outlet to explore and heal strained relationships. It can also support teens with common elements of the adolescent experience such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation/attempts, eating disorders, bullying, body-image/confidence, social skills, identity development, and experimentation with drugs, sex, and alcohol.
